Women’s Health

Women's Health

Women’s health at the practice is grounded in time, trust, and truly individualized care. Every stage of life brings unique needs, and each visit is designed to provide calm, thorough, evidence-based support. Appointments are unrushed, allowing space to understand your concerns, evaluate symptoms, review labs, and create a plan that aligns with your long-term well-being. Care is collaborative, thoughtful, and centered on helping women feel informed, balanced, and confident in their health.

Comprehensive Care for Every Stage of a Woman’s Life

Women’s health is more than a checklist of screenings. It is a lifelong partnership that considers hormones, emotional wellbeing, family planning, metabolism, sexual health, and preventive care together. Appointments begin with a detailed conversation about your symptoms, cycle changes, lifestyle, stress, sleep patterns, and long-term goals, allowing each visit to be guided by what matters most to you.

Pap smears, pelvic exams, breast exams, and preventive screenings are performed in a calm, comfortable environment with time dedicated to education, discussion, and thoughtful decision-making. Laboratory testing may be recommended to evaluate thyroid function, reproductive hormones, vitamin status, inflammation, cholesterol, and metabolic health when clinically appropriate.

A Thoughtful, Medically Grounded Approach to Hormones

Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can influence mood, energy, metabolism, weight, sleep, cognition, menstrual patterns, and cardiovascular health. These transitions deserve careful interpretation and evidence-based treatment.

Unlike many hormone programs where dosing recommendations are generated directly through pellet manufacturers, care here follows a physician-guided, individualized model. Michaela works closely with Dr. Angela King, a Board-Certified OBGYN, who personally reviews laboratory results, performs hormone calculations, and determines dosing based on each patient’s clinical presentation and goals.

Dr. King also performs pellet insertion procedures, ensuring continuity of care, procedural expertise, and appropriate medical oversight throughout treatment. This collaborative approach allows for precise, personalized hormone therapy while maintaining alignment with established clinical standards and safety practices.

Pellet therapy is offered when clinically appropriate, providing consistent and individualized hormone optimization tailored to each patient’s physiology and symptoms. This level of collaboration and oversight offers a degree of personalization not commonly found in traditional hormone programs.

Sexual Health, Fertility, and Reproductive Wellness

Care may include evaluation and support for:

  • Irregular or painful cycles

  • PMS or PMDD symptoms

  • Perimenopausal transition

  • Menopausal symptom management

  • Low libido or painful intercourse

  • Preconception counseling

  • Contraception and birth control guidance

  • Postpartum health concerns

  • Thyroid- or insulin-related menstrual changes

Each visit allows time to address sensitive concerns and develop a plan aligned with your health goals and stage of life.

Preventive Care for Long-Term Health

Women’s health visits also serve as an important foundation for early detection and prevention. Screening for cardiovascular risk, metabolic changes, anemia, thyroid disorders, bone health, and mental wellbeing is integrated into care. Lifestyle counseling, stress support, supplement guidance, and weight management recommendations are provided with attention to whole-person health.

Follow-up visits are typically thirty to sixty minutes, depending on complexity, allowing adequate time to review results, discuss options, and thoughtfully adjust treatment plans.

Coordinated Specialty Care When Needed

For more complex gynecologic needs, Michaela collaborates closely with Dr. Angela King, a Board-Certified OBGYN, as well as specialists across the Baylor, UTSW, and Methodist systems. This coordinated approach supports seamless communication, aligned treatment planning, and efficient access to advanced imaging or procedures when necessary.
